Ontario Handspinning Seminar

This workshop will explore Rambouillet (fine wool) and BFL (longwool) sheep from both a farmer’s and spinner’s perspective, with a focus on their wool. Participants will have an opportunity to work with wool from both breeds, firstly prepping and spinning washed wool and then spinning wool that has been processed at a mill. We will discuss the spinning as well as the finished products that each is best suited to.
At the end of the session, participants will have an understanding of these two wonderful breeds of sheep, with a glimpse into farming happy sheep that provide quality fibre and improve soil health.
